Most of his career has been as a science writer and communicator with CSIRO in Canberra and with Cooperative Research Centres based at the University of Adelaide and UniSA. He is president of the SA Branch of Sustainable Population Australia and In 2014 he initiated the Wakefield Futures Group, a group of ten senior Australian scientists, writers and policymakers that considers sustainability issues..

Speaker: Sandro Iuliano Following the downfall of the car manufacturing industry in South Australia, Sandro, a mechanical engineering by training, took a break from the 9-to-5 and began to enjoy the simple pleasures and caring for his young family. Gardening became a daily activity full of indulging rewards. Sandro pondered and realised, gardening was hard work requiring much valuable time and resource. Moreover, shoulder injuries sustained from over-gardening, inspired him to find a better way to enjoy the garden. |

David Wattchow is a professor of Surgery at Flinders university/Flinders Medical Centre. He was in the inaugural class to study medicine at Flinders in 1974. This talk will detail the development of medicine at Flinders from a personal perspective. It will move on to contributions to research and clinical medicine. Paul Duke was a senior member of that class and a colleague of David’s.

The MCCSA support and advocate for all people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds to realise their potential as active contributors to the economic, social and cultural life of South Australia. Currently the MCCSA delivers a range of services including: volunteering, employment readiness, social support, transport, capacity building, volunteer placement for international students, skilled migrants and tertiary student placement, early childhood programs and facility usage. |

On Tuesday 21st March we are meeting at our shed in Hove. Shane Chamings, Manager of the Goodwood Community Bendigo Bank, who have kindly sponsored most of our payment for the new cage trailer, will present same to the club.. Attached is a map showing the location of the shed at Brighton. It is not that far and you do not need a passport. We will have a meal there with steak and salad followed by dessert,coffee or tea at a cost of $15 per person. BYO grog and chair/s. Partners/Guests very welcome It will be a social event and we will have some games there to entertain those who run out of conversation or have a highly competitive streak.
