Five went out and only four have made it back find out who...  Not only do we have students presenting on their experience and learnings from the One and All, RYPEN and RYLAR but we are also lucky enough to be joined by the Rotary Club of McLaren Vale and our very own globe trotter Jerry.

Speaker: Andrew Cole

Cafe Outside The Square is one of Adelaide's leading providers of both food support and training opportunities for disadvantaged and vulnerable people right across South Australia.  Andrew Cole is a director at Cafe Outside the Square where he puts to use his 20+ years of experience in commercial training to work hopefully helping people get their lives on track.  After 5 years sharing a site with Vinnies, they're now on the move...

Puddle Jumpers Inc is a non profit, non-government organisation committed to responding to the social development needs of society’s most vulnerable children and young people; especially those children who do not live with their birth parents.  Melanie Tate is the founder and CEO of the organisation setup to ensure that children in need get the support they deserve.

Graham will be introducing the club to the usage of electronic defibrillators and resuscitation techniques.

Speaker: Sandro Iuliano

Following the downfall of the car manufacturing industry in South Australia, Sandro, a mechanical engineering by training, took a break from the 9-to-5 and began to enjoy the simple pleasures and caring for his young family. Gardening became a daily activity full of indulging rewards. Sandro pondered and realised, gardening was hard work requiring much valuable time and resource. Moreover, shoulder injuries sustained from over-gardening, inspired him to find a better way to enjoy the garden.

David Wattchow is a professor of Surgery at Flinders university/Flinders Medical Centre. He was in the inaugural class to study medicine at Flinders in 1974.  This talk will detail the development of medicine at Flinders from a personal perspective. It will move on to contributions to research and clinical medicine.

Paul Duke was a senior member of that class and a colleague of David’s.

Speaker: Miriam Cocking

Miriam has been associated with the Multicultural Communities Council of SA since 1983 and has been the Chairperson since 2015.  The MCCSA support and advocate for all people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds to realise their potential as active contributors to the economic, social and cultural life of South Australia. Currently the MCCSA delivers a range of services including: volunteering, employment readiness, social support, transport, capacity building, volunteer placement for international students, skilled migrants and tertiary student placement, early childhood programs and facility usage.

Speaker: Nerissa Kilvert

Nerissa Kilvert has been the small business commissioner since September 2021.  In this role, she is responsible for providing information to small businesses, advocating on their behalf and assisting businesses in both complaint resolution and in pursuing alternative paths for dispute resolution.  Nerissa has experience working successfully with Ministers, Senior Officials, government agencies, local councils, and a diverse range of other stakeholders, including representatives of the hospitality, building, tenancy, retail, legal and not-for-profit sectors.

The National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) is an annual program designed for young Australian students with a passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).  We are fortunate enough to have three local students involved in the program coming to present to us about their experiences.

On Tuesday 21st March we are meeting at our shed in Hove. Shane Chamings, Manager of the Goodwood Community Bendigo Bank, who have kindly sponsored most of our payment for the new cage trailer, will present same to the club..

Attached is a map showing the location of the shed at Brighton.  It is not that far and you do not need a passport.

We will have a meal there with steak and salad followed by dessert,coffee or tea at a cost of $15 per person.  BYO grog and chair/s.  Partners/Guests very welcome

It will be a social event and we will have some games there to entertain those who run out of conversation or have a highly competitive streak.

Biodiversity is crucial for the ecological balance and sustainability of the Black Forest. The region's diverse habitats, including forests, wetlands, and meadows, support a rich variety of plant and animal species.  David will be sharing his experiences in this unique region.

Our meeting this week will be a committee's meeting.  Individual directors will advise their agenda followed by a presentation on the activities of the committee.

Speaker: Rachael Horbelt

Rachel has been the fundraising and marketing manager at Sammy D Foundation for the last 2 years having been in multiple fundraising and charity roles in her career.  The Sammy D Foundation educates young people on the impacts of bullying, and drug and alcohol fuelled violence. By providing relevant age appropriate knowledge and tools, young people are empowered to make positive life decisions for a better community.

In her spare time she is the mother to 3 children and a professional actor - she continues to create scripts and perform comedy as part of a comedic duo.

A fun filled evening with our friends from Edwardstown Rotary when we get to show them its not what you know but who you know  - starring our very own Garry as the quizmaster who definitely won't be sharing the questions with us before the event.

<p>Attached is the detail about the Seaford Quiz night, proceeds go to the set up of a hospital in Uganda.&nbsp; It is very worthwhile.</p> <p>If we can get a table of 8, the cost is $12.50 per person.</p> <p>It will be great fun and a social evening.</p> <p>Please accept or decline and join us on the night.</p>

The Fleurieu Film Festival is an industry-standard, competitive short film festival held on the Fleurieu Peninsula as an avenue for new and emerging filmmakers to showcase their work, it has been running since 2016. The Festival contributes to the arts and culture in the region and showcases great food, wine and entertainment. The festival is an event that builds up the brand for the Fleurieu region, and over the past four years it has engaged the local community in film and art by creating a cultural hub on the Fleurieu Peninsula. The festival supports the local economy by encouraging businesses to participate and by encouraging visitors to support these businesses.
