SA Police Officer of the Year Award 2022

Since its inception in 1978, the annual South Australia Police Officer of the Year Award has sought to highlight the service provided to our community by the South Australia Police and recognises outstanding acts of courtesy, courage, kindness, understanding, compassion and devotion to duty by any member of the SA Police Department. It has been difficult times for all South Australians with the bush fires in late 2019 and early 2020 and the challenges of the Covid 19 pandemic extending into this year. SAPOL as well as other organisations have been intrinsically involved in these major state crises.
What we look for are those officers who perform above and beyond the call of duty. That may be performance on the job, for example courage, handling complex situations in an outstanding fashion, etc., or providing significant off-duty community volunteering.

Nominations for the SA Police Officer of the Year Award 2022 are now open.  The award will apply to 2022 and the years prior. Please note that nominations close on 22nd July 2022. Any queries please email:  pooty@unleyrotary.org.au

All nominations will be considered by the Club and, following consultation with the Commissioner of Police, a recipient is selected.
This prestigious Award will be presented at a public ceremony at the Royal Adelaide Show on Friday the 9th September 2022.
The high quality and number of nominations received by the Club each year demonstrates the esteem and respect the community holds for the members of the SA Police and the importance that South Australians place on the Police Officer of the Year Award.
