His special interests are gym....maybe he can conduct a 5 minute fitness class each week before the Rotary meeting for those who need it.....and afl, plus relaxation with family and friends.
Con was inducted by President Nathan and enthusiastically welcomed into the club. He is joining the Community Service Committee being directed by Brenton Judge. Chris Davis is his mentor.

Guest Speaker: PDG Jerry Casburn - Rotary Australia Worldwide Community Service (RAWCS)
This week's designated guest speaker is stuck in New Zealand, so next week's program has been brought forward....the editor's headline advert for next week was about being RAWCouSbut the magic moment has passed.
Jerry explained that RAWCS had its beginnings as FAIM (Fourth Avenue in Motion)....whatever that meant. RAWCS is the Rotary vehicle for providing fundraising support for worthwhile causes and attracts tax deductible donations. It operates the following programs:
Donations in Kind.....DIK
Safe Water to Save Lives
Projects and Volunteers
Rotary Australia Benevolent Society
Rotarians Against Malaria.....RAM
There are 3 funds that operate with tax deductible (DGR) status:
Rotary Overseas Aid Fund with 376 projects, 75% of them overseas
Rotary Australia Benevolent Society with 150 project, 30% overseas
Rotary Relief Fund where donated funds are allocated to other DGR status organisations.
External funding comes through 3 sources namely Government currently $14.7m, Philanthropy $5.6m (with Dick Smith a major contributor) and disaster relief appeals (drought, bushfire, floods) $14.3m. As part of the drought community outreach program members of our club were involved in handing out $500 gift cards for affected people. Programs also include compassionate assistance, fodder provision, bushfire appeal and rebuilding of infrastructure.
Projects and Volunteers delivers a range of international humanitarian projects across areas such as education, health, water and sanitation etc ...162 teams, 486 volunteers, and 1146 locals trained in 40 developing countries, including the eye project in Nepal led by Jason Booth. RAM has set its sights on eradicating malaria, the biggest killer in the world. Donations in Kind took valuable equipment and materials from the old RAH and delivered 40 containers to developing countries. Jerry is helping out at the national level with communications......first task, according to David, is to get rid of the acronyms. Among the numerous projects, he provided an insight into The Didi Foundation - Nepal, provision of low power consuming computers, and multidisciplinary assistance provided to a village in Nepal.
Jerry was thanked for his contribution.
Award to Heather Kilsby
PP Graham Beckett presented a Paul Harris Fellow sapphire pin to Heather Kilsby who was away last week when the other awards were presented.
Spots
Patsy Beckett announced that we are celebrating Christmas in July on 27 July - partners invited, main course turkey followed by a small pud, cost $40.
Leonie Kewen advised that the SA Police Officer of the Year 2021 ceremony will be held at the Wayville Showgrounds at 11.30am on Friday 10 September. Due to prevailing constraints it will be conducted without the Police Band.
Paul Duke is running a silent wine auction at the ROMAC function on 29 August......all non-teetotalers in the club are requested to save their livers and provide a bottle next week.
Finale
Patsy won the filthy lucre and, fittingly, Stephen the fruchocs. Happily, Valerie and Graham spent time on the weekend at Glenthorne farm planting trees and shrubs; this could be a good project for the club given it will be a focus for the Queen's Canopy Program.
President Nathan announced a Board meeting after this
The meeting closed at a timely 7.46 pm ... a promising start.
Saltbush dehydrator bought for Calperum by Unley and McLaren Vale Rotary Clubs

By Elizabeth Guybert, Rotary Club of Grande Terre Pointe Des Châteaux, Guadeloupe, French West Indies
In April, the successive eruptions of the Soufrière volcano devastated part of the island of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, leading to an urgent evacuation of the population from the affected areas.
While humanitarian aid was pouring in from all sides in a show of solidarity, the government, associations and veterinary services were trying, as best they could, to help the animals that the inhabitants and farmers had to leave behind. With the pastures and shelters totally devastated by the weight of the ash and its toxicity, it was our job as Rotarians, after having contributed financially to the humanitarian aid, to organize a large-scale collection for the animals. There were 25,000 animals in need of water, food, medicine, and shelter.
Volcanic ash left 25,000 animals without water, food, medicine, and shelter. Rotarians raised more than $140,000 for 200 tons of goods.
And so our club, in consultation with our friends at the Rotary Club of Lamentin in Martinique, took the initiative to carry out this project, with the help of authorities and professionals in the field, the media, and with the support of the Rotary Club of Kourou in Guyana.
We are very proud to have been able, thanks to the solidarity between Caribbean countries, to show our dedication and a certain effectiveness. On 5 June, more than 200 tons of goods, for an estimated cost of 120,000 Euros (about $143,000), left our islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique in the direction of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

The Tale End.....
This is another true cock and bull story
My wife and I went to the Royal Show and one of the first exhibits we stopped at was the breeding bulls.. We went up to the first pen and there was a sign attached that said,
' THIS BULL MATED 50 TIMES LAST YEAR '
My wife playfully nudged me in the ribs .......Smiled and said, 'He mated 50 times last year, that's almost once a week.'We walked to the second pen which had a sign attached that said,
''THIS BULL MATED 150 TIMES LAST YEAR'
My wife gave me a healthy jab and said, 'WOW~~That's more than twice! a week ! .........You could learn a lot from him.' We walked to the third pen and it had a sign attached that said, in capital letters,
'THIS BULL MATED 365 TIMES LAST YEAR'
My wife was so excited that her elbow nearly broke my ribs, and said, 'That's once a day .You could REALLY learn something from this one.'
I looked at her and said, 'Go over and ask him if it was with the same cow.'
My condition has been upgraded from critical to stable and I should eventually make a full recovery.
