Brevet Sergeant Peter Phillips

Brevet Sergeant Phillips joined SAPOL in July 2005. His postings to date include: Mount Gambier where he is currently stationed; Officer in Charge, Beachport Police Station; Transit Police; and Holden Hill Local Service Area where he served on Patrols, in the Intelligence Section and the Uniform and CIB Tactical Teams.

Peter Phillips was assigned to Beachport Police Station in 2013 where he quickly earned the respect of the community through his no-nonsense but fair policing.

Peter was instrumental in the founding of the Beachport Surf Life Saving Club in 2016. He drove the process by working with Council, Surf Life Saving SA and other relevant bodies to gain support for the Club, and was elected as its inaugural President. The club quickly grew to 60 members. His work with the club extended from training of juniors on beach days to liaison with sponsors and the various government bodies.

Peter joined and became an active member of the Beachport Lions Club. He attended the Beachport District and Development Association meetings to create an effective working relationship between Police and the local community….and it worked. Although now stationed in Mount Gambier, he continues to play a key role in development of the surf life-saving club at Beachport.
